Can one reach Crystal desert in Pre by exploring? Solo??

I'm enjoying the view, doing quests here and there and taking my sweet time before I move on to Post.

Sorry, but you're confined to just those 4-5 areas.

No, in pre-searing you can just wisit a few of the explorables (5 to be exact) around Ascalon City.
